68: exhibition of objects, images and films

The exhibition, accompanied by a series of films, is organized in the public spaces of the Anteo film complex

from 16 April to 16 June 2018

For Milano Design Week, at a distance of 50 years from those legendary days, IDD Innovation Design District and Anteo Palazzo del Cinema in collaboration with INTERNI Panorama pay homage to the year 1968 with an exhibition-event curated by Francesca Molteni, in which objects of industrial design, documents and images narrate the lifestyles of a historical moment of sweeping social changes.

An exhibition of objects, images and films, which through design narrates the fascinating, revolutionary period of ‘68.

From lights to seating, kitchens to complements: the show brings together furnishings and objects still in production today that are associated with that historical moment, focusing on the creative flair of the masters of design, and the farsighted vision of the companies ready to enthusiastically absorb change in terms of forms, functions and materials.

Bright colors invaded the home, contaminating every single space, while forms became fluid. Lights became decor protagonists, and kitchens took on rainbow hues.

The exhibition is accompanied by a mini-catalogue inserted in the issue of INTERNI Panorama on newsstands starting on 12 April and distributed free of charge at the show.

The event also includes original video contributions produced for the occasion: a series of interview enable visitors to listen to the viewpoints and stories of professionals like Clino Trini Castelli, Germano Celant, Paolo Deganello, Salvatore Gregorietti, Alessandro Guerriero, Corrado Levi, Nanni Strada, Oliviero Toscani and Lea Vergine.

A crossover interpretation that documents the various currents of a movement.

For the opening of the exhibition 68, on 16 April at 20.00, there will be the Italian premiere screening of the film SuperDesign. Italian Radical Design 1965-75 by Maria Cristina Didero and Francesca Molteni, who is also the director, supported by the R & Company gallery in New York and produced by MUSE.
