The new monthly appointment of Casa Canvas in the Brera Design Apartment, Via Palermo 1, Milan

Canvas Talks is the new, exclusive monthly appointment of Casa Canvas in the Brera Design Apartment in Milan, for an intimate atmosphere of networking and sharing of experiences for women active in the field of design, art and communication.

An original, precise all-women format launched in January: one Monday each month, a place, a different event theme, a moderator, a chef, four guests and 14 newly invited women, selected by the organizers.

The initiative comes from an idea of the Brazilian designer Thayse Viégas – founder of Casa Canvas, the innovative residence-gallery for art and design – with the collaboration of the Portuguese graphic designer Silvia Matias, a former consultant of Fabrica, the communications research center of Benetton Group.

The format was presented to Paolo Casati – co-founder of Studiolabo and inventor of the Brera Design Apartment, the “home” of the Brera Design District at Via Palermo 1 – who was enthusiastic about the proposal.

The series of events by invitation only continues until June at the Brera Design Apartment, and will be open to the world thanks to digital platforms (website and social networks) to narrate the project and the experiences of each encounter.

The 2019 edition of Canvas Talks focuses on a general theme (“Build and Rebuild”), while each event approaches a different, more specific topic, like “success begins with mistakes” or “the need for more inclusive spaces”; other ideas include “the contribution of foreign women professionals to the Italian market” and “the new rules of digital communication.”
