The Milan Triennalein collaboration with MiBAC, the Ministry of Cultural Resources and Activities, and MADE expo, announce the fourth edition of the Gold Medal for Italian Architecture, a triennial event to promote and examine the most interesting new works built in our country. The Gold Medal for Italian Architecture focuses on public promotion of contemporary architecture as a way of constructing environmental and civic quality, the product of a vital dialogue between designers, clients and businesses. With the aim of also opening the prize to the area of research, this edition also features a section entitled “Architecture, design and the future”, on research projects and studies that represent new spatial visions and needs, involving the use of unusual methods and materials, and avant-garde technologies. The competition is held every three years and includes the Gold Medal for works, the Special Prize for a first work, the Special Prize for clients, the Special Prize for research. Six Honorable Mentionsare also awarded for six construction sectors. All the awards are decided by an international jury of seven experts. The decisions will be announced at a press conference and an official ceremony, followed by an exhibition and the publication of the finalist projects.
