De’Longhi promotes Progetto Simbiosi: a contest for design students to bring out the excellence of Made in Italy and to make young people aware of the culture of crafts through research and experimentation.

Starting in November 2016 selected students are asked to create new products or restyle existing ones, proposing aesthetic-formal alternatives, rethinking uses and materials, for objects used in the kitchen: coffeemakers (manual or super-automatic), teakettles, toasters, as well as related accessories like cups, pitchers, etc.

The projects will be evaluated by a jury of experts from the world of culture, design, art and journalism, chaired by Fabio De’Longhi.

In October 2017, at the conclusion of the contest, the prototypes made by all the young students will be shown in a public exhibition.

Details of the competition: free registration by 15 April 2017; deadline for materials 15 June 2017, with technical drawings, renderings and a description of the innovative characteristics of the design, materials and technologies; the jury will complete its deliberations by 30 July 2017.
