Wednesday 14 October, at the Bologna fair, is the first day of the 51st edition of SAIE, the historic Italian fair on construction, which gets doubled this year thanks to two new formats: SAIE Smart House, on the construction and renovation of intelligent buildings and cities (held in 2015 and all odd-number years) and SAIE Building & Construction (to be held in even-number years, and also covering construction and engineering of the territory and infrastructures).

With the renewed Smart House formula, SAIE demonstrates its capacity to stay ahead of trends, continuing in its role as an avant-garde fair: the event responds to new market challenges and shifts towards the most modern themes of sustainable construction, urban regeneration and energy efficiency, intercepting new trends and presenting the most modern technologies for sustainable construction.

Designers and companies, during the four days in Bologna, will find different technological solutions integrated in the construction system, with new standards and avant-garde proposals that respond to a new idea of living in the city and the home, improving the quality of our environment. The focus of the debate generated by the exhibition is the theme “man – home – constructed environment” based on a new idea of the city and respect for the territory.

At the same time as SAIE, visitors can see the first edition of i SIE – the Fair of Innovation of physical plant systems for buildings, hosted in pavilion 29 and organized by Senaf/Tecniche Nuove – all the entire production chain of civil physical plant systems: thermo-hydraulic, climate control, renewable energy and home automation, seen in terms of complete integration of the building technology system inside the SAIE platform.

The fair’s offerings also include the Smart City Exhibition, an event on intelligent cities organized in collaboration with Forum PA at pavilion 31, while pavilion 36 contains Ambiente Lavoro, organized with Senaf to focus on health and safety in the workplace, with a particular accent on construction sites. Finally, SAIE3 covers accessories for construction, casements and sustainability, for both indoor and outdoor applications.
