Arper furnishes Oodi, the new library designed by the Finnish firm ALA Architects in Helsinki

Various Arper collections have been utilized to furnish Oodi, the library designed by the Finnish studio ALA Architects and recently opened in Helsinki.

The building, in the very central Töölö area, has three interacting levels: the first two contain multifunctional spaces, a cinema and workshops, while the upper level contains the library proper, designed as a floating, relaxing volume.

Amidst shelving, potted trees and a refreshment zone, the products by Arper establish a dialogue with the architecture, facilitating its multiple functions. The mutable space extends under an undulating ceiling, on an equally irregular surface in wood, lit by large skylights and glazed walls.

The sofas and armchairs of the Saari collection and Catifa 80 create small urban reading lounges. Near the windows, Catifa Sensit offers a place to enjoy the panoramic view, while the area for children features the colorful Pix ottomans.
