The money spent by Baccarat to rent Palazzo Morandoduring the 2011 edition of the Salone del Mobile has been set aside by the director of the Civic Museums, Marina Messina, for the restoration of 18 dresses that will illustrate, in a new exhibit design, the feminine image in Milan from 1848 to 1914, the period between the Risorgimento and post-unification Italy. The dresses, selected and described by Alessia Schiavi and Elisabetta Chiodini, show the changes of style of Milanese women from the late 1800s to the early 1900s, for a chronological overview of the image of Milanese society at the turn of the century.
