Tradition and future

The Christie’s headquarters in China, created by the Milan-based studio Vudafieri – Saverino Partners in collaboration with the French studio (based in Shanghai) DDM – Debelle de Montby, is a modern, luminous multifunctional space.

With an area of 1000 m2 on two of the three levels of the Ampire Building, a facility in colonial style designed by British architects at the start of the 1900s, the new headquarters is in the exclusive pedestrian zone of Yuanmingyuan Road, in the Bund, the oldest and most elegant district of Shanghai.

The first floor contains the main lobby, the library and the offices, while the second is for exhibits and auctions. The building is organized as a work area, but also as a gathering place for art lovers and collectors during exhibitions, private sales, conferences and other events.
