East and West

Data Pubblicazione: 15 December 2017

Oriental charm and high-quality Italian ceramics come together in a residential complex in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where the unusual chromatic effects of the Trace collection by Ceramiche Caesar have been selected for the floors of the indoor and outdoor pool created by the architect Vincenzo Provenzano.

The metal-effect porcelain stoneware in the Mint color, with the sizes 60×60 and 30×30 cm, together with custom pieces and the Cover 30×60 cm pattern, give the outdoor spaces a crafted look and an extremely modern, cosmopolitan image at the same time.

Meneghello Paolelli creates an adjustable clock for Guzzini: on a table or shelf, on the wall, or suspended from the ceiling

60 minutes and 180 degrees for a perfect gift idea
Data Pubblicazione: 14 December 2017

A object with a simple design that offers three different usage options.

Move Your Time is the result of the first collaboration between the design studio Meneghello Paolelli Associati and Guzzini.

This is a universal directional clock with minimal lines, featuring a system that enables it to adapt to any decor requirements.

The unit can be suspended thanks to a cable that threads inside the ring at the top of the clock; it can be placed on a surface or hung from the wall, and adjusted in different directions thanks to a mechanism that provides stability and mobility at the same time.

The designers Sandro Meneghello and Marco Paolelli explain: “In this first product for Guzzini we wanted to play with clean, essential lines, and the timeless combination of white and black. This decorative object can be discreetly inserted in any context, granting the user the possibility of using it in any way desired. It becomes a multifunctional decorative accessory.”

Déco facings update the terrace of the home-studio in Milan of Stefano Giovannoni
Data Pubblicazione: 14 December 2017

The internationally acclaimed designer Stefano Giovannoni, to renovate the floors of the outdoor spaces of his residence in Milan, has relied on the experience of Déco.

For the space of 450 m2 which often hosts events, the architect has chosen exotic Ipe Lapacho, a wood from the forests of South America. A noble material with a warm, elegant look, perfect to create a comfortable setting.

A design choice that combines tradition and novelty, guaranteeing maximum strength and stability, even 45 years after installation. The wood has the same flame resistance certification as concrete.

Winter garden in Brittany

A completely ecocompatible space heated by a small MCZ pellet stove
Data Pubblicazione: 13 December 2017

To expand a house from the early 1900s at Vigneux de Bretagne, with solid granite walls typical of the region, the architect Tristan Brisard has decided to create an aesthetically independent  volume for the living area, based on the archetypal forms of the house.

The result is a sort of essential, minimal winter garden made entirely with the standards of bioconstruction.

The first goal was to reduce environmental impact in terms of CO2 emissions, energy consumption and use of raw materials, opting for a construction entirely in wood.

The beams in untreated solid chestnut set the rhythm of the essential forms of the rooms. The walls and skeleton are in Finnish red spruce, with natural wood fiber insulation, while the furnishings in perfect Nordic style are also in wood.

The result is a high level of residential comfort.

The objective of sustainability has also been achieved thanks to a pellet stove, chosen as a more economical and ecological alternative to heating oil or methane.

The owners Julien and Fanny Guérin chose the Thema stove by MCZ.

This small forced ventilation stove, just 80 centimeters high, can easily heat the entire space (over 70 square meters), keeping a constant temperature of 20°C throughout the day, and 18° at night, with limited consumption (less than one ton of pellets for the whole winter).
