Sustainable regeneration

Data Pubblicazione: 19 October 2017

Intelligent design and apt choices of materials to regenerate urban areas threatened by decay: this is the philosophy behind the Case di Luce project, which in Bisceglie, Apulia has made a substantial contribution to the recovery of a semi-suburban district of the city, creating Europe’s largest building in hemp and lime.

The project by PS Architetture implemented by Pedone Working of Bisceglie (BT) is based on an integrated approach that brings out the bioclimate characteristics of the site, while applying construction techniques from the Mediterranean tradition.

To combine security with thermal insulation, the choice went to the Dierre security doors of the Synergy Out line, which thanks to a patented PVC frame with a steel core set records for insulation, with trasmittance 7 times lower than traditional frames: Uf 1.1 W/m2 K as opposed to 7.

Artemide enters the ADI Design Index 2017 with Discovery

Data Pubblicazione: 18 October 2017

The Discovery suspension lamp by Artemide, designed by Ernesto Gismondi, has been selected for publication in the ADI Design Index 2017, the second of two volumes that contain the best design projects selected as candidates for the Compasso d’Oro ADI 2018 award.

Discovery is the expression of in-depth knowledge of light and its qualities of perception. It is an element that does not invade space, transparent, dematerialized, taking on volume only when it is on, thanks to the light emitted in the central surface.

Discovery has an essential geometric design, a very light profile where an LED strip injects light into a surface of transparent PMMA with micro-incisions.

Venetian by Alsteca

Alsteca presents new explorations in the field of design and materials, creating new versions of the iconic sunglasses
Data Pubblicazione: 18 October 2017

Venetian is the new development from Alsteca that adds two new details to the iconic round model: the metal bridge and the flat base 2 lens.

An authentic must for this season with the name of one of the famous bridges of Miami, thanks to the metal detail that sets it apart from the classic Wynwood Round model.

The frame is finished with a game of contrasts combined with the bronze or silver finish; the series comes in ten colors that complete the brand’s range of hues: turquoise, marsala, powder pink and camouflage add a touch of color to the next summer season.

Alsteca uses only quality lenses in strong scratchproof polycarbonate, and the soft-touch frame is made with a high-performance polymer to make the glasses very flexible and light: just 16gr.
