From 19 to 23 January 2018 MAISON & OBJET is back, the Parisian fair on the art de vivre, decor and design. An event that is a reference point for home-fashion, known for its 360° overview of furnishings, accessories, textiles, fragrances, the world of kids, and the arts of the table. A platform that combines business and creativity, bringing together buyers, architects and designers.

Italy is the protagonist of the “Rising Talent Awards for young talents. Six successful personalities from the world of design choose the emerging talents, offering a chance to be seen in an international showcase: Giulio Cappellini has chosen Antonio Facco (the youngest, born in 1991), Piero Lissoni indicates Kensaku Oshiro (1977), Rossana Orlandi has named Guglielmo Poletti (1987), Andrea Branzi picks Federica Biasi (1989), Rosita Missoni nominates Marco Lavit Nicora (1986), and Luca Nichetto has chosen Federico Peri (1983).

The “designer of the year” is the Danish talent Cecilie Manz. Born in Copenhagen, she was chosen due to the quality and elegance of her creations: from her first project, the Ladder in 1999, to the speakers for Bang & Olufsen, her work always focuses on simplicity and the pursuit of clean, refined forms. Manz brings the results of her research to Paris, mixing well-known projects with new creations.

In the January 2018 edition the agency NellyRodi will develop the “Show-Room” concept in the Espace d’Inspirations and the Cafe-Bookstore. This concept is based on reflections about the sector and marketing research conducted with a focus on innovation and creativity. The idea is that consumers no longer want to listen to stories, they want to have experiences: showrooms and stores become places of entertainment and experimentation. The store is no longer a place to search through what is already available: for better or worse, thanks to digital devices, it has to become a living place, like a home, in which to engage in experiences and offer one’s own opinions.
