Brazilian design includes many and different creative expressions, the result of the varied artistic and manufacturing cultures present in the regions of this immense South American country. It ranges from high craftsmanship to indigenous productions all the way to the most advanced industry. Alongside the precious materials – first of all the fine varieties of Brazilian timberplain and recycled materials are also used in an interesting mix of high and popular culture. The exhibition Brasil - Design in Motion, organized by Apex-Brasil, the Brazilian agency for the promotion of exports and investments, in collaboration with Abimóvel seeks precisely to recount Brazilian design in its different forms, regions and features, revealing the concepts of creativity, sustainability, innovation and diversity that distinguish the industrial production of contemporary furniture. Curated by the interior designer José Roberto Moreira do Valle and installed in the monumental spaces of the Portico Richini of Milan University, the exhibition marks the sixth edition of Brazil’s presence at Milan Design Week, which this year will include other exhibition and communication initiatives, both at the Supersalone and FuoriSalone.
