Mondadori Portfolio celebrates ten years of activity with an exhibition dedicated to the Roman photographer Marisa Rastellini. Cassina and Flos support the setting with iconic design pieces

From 28 April to 1 May 2022, as part of MIA Fair, the most important fair dedicated to photography as a transversal tool in Italy, Mondadori Portfolio celebrates its tenth anniversary with an exhibition dedicated to the works of the photographer Marisa Rastellini.

In a monographic exhibition at Superstudio Maxi in Milan, the place that hosts MIA Fair, the exhibition entitled "A gentle look, photographs by Marisa Rastellini" pays homage to the refined objective of the Roman artist, who with elegance was able to immortalize well-known votes of Italian culture, from cinema to literature.

Also participating in the initiative are Cassina and Flos, Italian excellences who contribute by making iconic design pieces available to the display.

The exhibition A gentle look, photographs by Marisa Rastellini reconstructs the universe of Marisa Rastellini, a photographer with a delicate artistic personality, active over the Sixties and Eighties of the last century for the Mondadori Epoca and Grazia magazines, who with his shots were able to capture the a profound look of great Italian intellectuals such as Pier Paolo Pasolini, Elsa Morante, Virna Lisi, Monica Vitti, and then Marcello Mastroianni, Federico Fellini, Valentino Garavani.

A visual journey that well conveys the intangible spirit of those years immediately following the Italian boom: actors, intellectuals, artists and relevant names in the world of fashion. The exhibition is the result of an in-depth research work, curated by Maria Vittoria Baravelli, in collaboration with Mondadori Portfolio and made possible thanks to the materials available in the archives of Mondadori Media.

Mondadori Portfolio was born in 2012 with the aim of enhancing the iconographic heritage of Mondadori magazines; year after year it has been enriched with prestigious collections, a team of contemporary photographers and an offer of services in step with contemporary forms of communication .

"With this exhibition / event - explains Elisabetta De Simone , Executive Manager of Mondadori Portfolio - we celebrate our first ten years of activity: a significant journey during which, through a work of recovery of prints, original negatives, color photos and slides kept in the immense historical archive of the publisher, famous names such as Mario De Biasi, Giorgio Lotti, Angelo Cozzi, Sergio De Grande and many other authors who in the last 60 years have told, through their shots, the history of our country".
