The Swiss Institute in Rome presents, in its headquarters at Villa Maraini, an international symposium to explore the complex relationship between architecture and cinema, from the modern era to the present. Ten scholars including architects and historians of art, architecture and cinema – Olivo Barbieri, Marco Brizzi, Giuliana Bruno, Teresa Castro, Marisa Galbiati, Edward Dimenberg, Christina Kerez, Henry Keazor, Richard Koeck, Martino Stierli– will analyze different perspectives that intertwine in a productive dialogue. The speakers will examine the potential of cinema and of the moving image as a tool of knowledge and research for the analysis and representation of architecture and space.
