Museo Poldi Pezzoli, the estate-museum at via Manzoni 12, presents – in collaboration with Foscarini and Inventario– an exhibition curated by Beppe Finessi that focuses on an object, a timeless type: the book, not so much as a paper product, a container of words, a fundamental tool for the transmission of knowledge, as in the guise of a universe of objects and actions that exist “around” the book itself, paying tribute to it through complementary ideas. Over 100 works, including design (book stands, bookcases, bookmarks…) and furnishings, created by outstanding protagonists of the international design scene, including great masters like Cini Boeri, Gae Aulenti, Giotto Stoppino, and talents like Franco Raggi, Giulio Iacchetti, Martí Guixé, Gabriele Pezzini, Matteo Ragni, Paul Cocksedge, Ross Lovegroove and Marco Ferreri. There are also works by contemporary artists who have always concentrated on the book as a world of its own, including Stefano Arienti with a work made precisely for this show. www.museopoldipezzoli.it.
