MAXXI presents the first solo show in Italy by Kemang Wa Lehulere, one of the most interesting South African artists of the new generation.

Curated by Britta Färber, head curator of the department of Art, Culture and Sport of Deutsche Bank, and Anne Palopoli, curator of MAXXI, the show presents about 20 works by the young artist (Cape Town, 1984), winner of the annual prize Deutsche Bank assigns to emerging or mid-career artists.

Opened in March at Deutsche Bank Kunsthalle in Berlin, the show makes its second stop in Rome, as part of Expanding the Horizon, an initiative developed by MAXXI to develop global ties of collaboration between the museum, other institutions and private collections.
