To celebrate its 10th birthday, Secondome has created a new exhibition (not a retrospective) and a book entitled 10 anni, secondome, to gather contributions from three different viewpoints on the work done thus far, and an anthology of images to retrace the history of the gallery.
The book published by Nero has contributions by Maria Cristina Didero, Stefano Micelli and Giampiero Mughini to narrate the gallery’s story through the eyes of a curator, an economist and a collector.
The title of the show is a tribute to the gallery’s host city, Rome. In Rome, when you throw a party you tell your friends to “knock with their feet,” meaning their hands should be full because they should bring something with them!
This challenge to bring an object, a piece of furniture or a lamp seen as being pertinent to the work of the gallery has been met by: 4P1b, Sam Baron, Giovanni Casellato, Matteo Cibic, Nigel Coates, Dum Dum, Henzel, Lanzavecchia+Wai, Massimo Lunardon, Coralla Maiuri, Stefano Marolla, Marco Raparelli, Servomuto, Gio Tirotto, Alessandro Zambelli, Giorgia Zanellato and Zaven.
The result is a very versatile show.
