The Triennale Design Museum presents an exhibition that reveals less familiar aspects of the work of the Chilean artist Sebastián Matta(1911-2002). Casamattasymbolically reproduces the interiors of Matta’s home, furnished exclusively with his creations straddling art, design and crafts. Chairs, sofas, benches, tables, wardrobes, beds, lamps made by experimenting with different materials like wood, resin and metal establish a dialogue with everyday useful objects, ceramics, flatware, dishes, decorated vases, small sculptures. Some of Matta’s paintings are also on display, for a complete overview of his versatile, eclectic work.
