At Museo Poldi Pezzoli (via Alessandro Manzoni 12), an encounter with Young artists and research, between past and future, the first event in the cycle Conversations between museums. Look to the past, see yourself reflected in the future. The cycle organized by Rosanna Pavoni has the support of the Department of Culture of the Province of Milanin connection with the activities of the provincial museum system Milano Città del Progetto. For this first encounter Museo Poldi Pezzoli meets the Kartell Museum, with Annalisa Zanni, director of Museo Poldi Pezzoli, Claudio Luti, President of Kartell and the Kartell Museum, Elisa Storace, curator of the Kartell Museum. A hypothetical conversation between generations: Gian Giacomo Poldi Pezzoli and Claudio Luti, with their ideas, have given value to the decorative arts and the practice of crafts with an international focus, both concentrating on the importance of the “project”, in a dialogue with the past, for Poldi Pezzoli, and of research and experimentation, for Kartell. The program involves three corporate museums from the area – besides Kartell, the Giovanni Sacchi Archives and the Zucchi Collection of Antique Handblocks 1785-1935 – and three museums in Milan: the Vico Magistretti studio-museum foundation, the Museo Martinitt & Stelline, and Museo Poldi Pezzoli. During the three appointments, on Wednesday at 18.30, the Milanese museums host a museum from the territory: an encounter between only apparently distant legacies, in search of paths between history and the present to find keys of interpretation and unusual points of contact. www.provincia.milano.it/cultura.
