April 2024 is the month of Design Week and the Interni exhibition-event. The magazine comes out with the FuoriSalone Guide and King Size back in print. But follow us also on the website and check out, always up-to-date, Guida FuoriSalone and King Size also in the digital version

This April Interni begins the official celebration of its first 70 years of publication, an intense history of seven decades in which the magazine has documented, interpreted and nurtured the evolution of architecture, interiors and design around the world. Across this time span, we have had the good fortune to share in the fantastic, adventurous history of Italian décor and design, also defined as Made in Italy, and we have closely monitored the growth of a sector and its expressions, thanks to the work of brilliant men and women of culture, architects and designers, and intuitive, courageous entrepreneurs. Interni has grown up with design.

A parallel publication system

With an increasingly precise commitment to the communication of design culture on an international level, the magazine has developed a system of parallel publications, transforming the monthly from elite-media to mass-media. The activities also cover the invention and coordination of events and exhibitions, organized to encourage interaction between people who design, produce, distribute and communicate.

Transversal thinking

Cross Vision, the theme of the exhibition-event organized by Interni for April 2024, becomes the leitmotif of this issue, generating crossover thinking that is the result of different cultures and different areas of expertise. During Design Week Milan is transformed into a lively stage for architects, designers and creative talents from around the world, and it is precisely in this context that they find the possibility of presenting and comparing their individual visions. As Andrea Branzi said, “design speaks Italian, design is inside the energy of innovation.” This great master always believed in a theoretical and practical model based on exchange of ideas and knowledge, as a process of cultural growth and learning.

A polyphonic exhibition

This is the principle that guide this issue, driven by the focus on Cross Vision, a polyphonic exhibition that expands its range of venues this year: Università degli Studi di Milano, Audi House of Progress / Portrait Milano, Orto Botanico di Brera, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Eataly Milano Smeraldo, Urban Up / Unipol - De Castillia 23. There are 41 installations, 44 designers involved, 12 nations represented. Among them we find Japan, which next year will host Expo 2025 Osaka: an event previewed in a model on a scale of 1:100 of the Italian Pavilion created by Mario Cucinella, an ideal projection celebrations for the 70th anniversary of Interni into a future that is still waiting to be written. Obviously in the name of design.

The FuoriSalone Guide: an essential tool for orientation

Interni's Guide to FuoriSalone 2024 events accompanies the April issue. The number of events is decidedly high: more than 350, all listed on a fundamental tool to orient oneself and choose what to see during the Milan Design Week.
