Design Miami/ is back in Miami Beach for its 12th edition, full of new developments and surprises. The event, a meeting point for the worldwide design elite, offers new satellite projects, special events, collaborations and intercultural initiatives. This year 31 internationally renowned galleries will be on hand, including four new entries.

 

Emerging Mexican artists will be showing their works, including Abel Zavala, Tanya Aguiñiga and Gloria Cortina. The trend towards the use of unusual materials will be seen in the work of Misha Kahn, Hugo França and Niek Pulles. There are also solo shows by designer Maria Pergay and the artist Giorgio Vigna.

 

The Design Curio examines the latest experimental design innovators, including: Samuel and Dominic Amoia, Charles Hollis Jones, No Sex in Miami by Atelier Biagetti, Streetscapes, Colour & Contradiction.

 

New York-based SHoP Architects is this year’s winner of the Panerai Design Miami/ Visionary Award. The studio has created the 3D work Flotsam & Jetsam.

 

The Design Collaborations/ program also returns, including Audi with The Extra Hour, Compac, Airbnb, Dean & DeLuca, Louis Vuitton, Perrier-Jouët and Fendi.
