An exclusive preview of the Italian Pavilion of Expo 2020 Dubai, now under construction. The event, the first of its kind in the Middle East, has been  postponed  to  1 October 2021 due to the pandemic, and will conclude on 31 March 2022. Expo Dubai will represent a major opportunity for an Italian rebound, involving all of our country’s expressions of creativity  and  know-how,  also  on  the  theme  of  sustainability.  With  the slogan “Beauty Connects People", the materials with which to clad and set up the Italian Pavilion are the result of creativity, advanced research and innovation Made in Italy, interpreting the guiding principle of this much-awaited world event, “Connecting minds, creating the future.”

With a Degree in Physics and a professional qualification as specialist in polymer science, her career began in Eni's chemical company in 1993. The long experience in research combined with the technical and managerial competence gained over the years within one of the strategic businesses of Eni's chemical company in positions of responsibility represent a combination capable of providing the right answer to the needs of industry and of the market through the potential of innovation. In his role, Lavagnini oversees the definition of programs relating to Eni's research, development and technological innovation activities, the management of the related budget and the implementation of all research initiatives, ensuring coordination with the business lines and alignment with Eni's Strategic Plan for 2050 in terms of innovation, circular economy, CO2 reduction, the energy transition, etc. She is also Eni Member of the Scientific Commission and Secretary of the Promoting Committee of the Eni Award.

University professor, cultural adviser and manager for national and international institutions, artistic director. He was the President of the Triennale in Milan (2003 - 2012). In 2010 he was the curator of the Italian Pavilion at the Expo 2010 in Shanghai and the following year he also curated the exhibition “Tradition and Innovation” at the same Pavilion which, after the Expo, has become a permanent venue for the promotion of Italy in China. From 2012 to 2015 he was the creator and the curator of Pavilion Zero at Expo Milan 2015. Among his latest projects, the public event "Milano XL" dedicated to the excellence of Made in Italy, the art exhibition "Memory and Contemporaneity" dedicated to contemporary Chinese art which took part at the 57th Venice Biennal, the Italian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, for which he is the artistic director, and the “De-Signo” installation for the Salone del Mobile.Milano in 2019 dedicated to Leonardo's celebrations.

Architect and engineer, Carlo Ratti (Turin, 1971) teaches at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, USA, where he directs the MIT Senseable City Lab, a research group that explores how new technologies are changing the way we design and live the cities. He is a founding partner of the international design and innovation studio Carlo Ratti Associati based in Turin and branches in New York and London that develops projects on the most diverse scales from furniture to urban planning. Protagonist of the international debate on the influence of new technologies in the urban field, he is the author of more than 500 publications, articles or interviews. Esquire magazine included him among the "Best & Brightest", Forbes among the "Names You Need to Know" and Wired in the list of "50 people who will change the world". Together with Italo Rota, Matteo Gatto and F&M Ingegneria he signs the project for the Italian Pavilion, Expo 2020 Dubai.
Architect (1953, Milan) at the end of the 1980s he moved to Paris where he signed the renovation of the Museum of Modern Art at the Center Pompidou with Gae Aulenti, the new rooms of the French School at the Cour Carrée of the Louvre and others. In the nineties he returned to Milan and with the new Italo Rota Building Office he created projects and architectures in Italy and in the world, a practice that for over thirty years has focused on constant and advanced crossdisciplinary research, from art to robotics, for the definition of innovative projects where humanistic beauty and sustainability become integrated and disruptive elements. Among the most recent works: the Civic Museums of Reggio Emilia, the new Elatech robot factory in Val Brembilla (BG), the children's theater in Maciachini Milan. Countless exhibitions, publications, installations and pavilions, including the pavilion for Expo Zaragoza 2008 and the Italian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. He has been awarded prizes: twice the Gold Medal for Italian Architecture, the Landmark Conservancy Prize and the Grand Prix de l 'l'Urbanisme.

Lawyer, since 1994 she has been the chief editor of the magazine Interni, published by Gruppo Mondadori, and of all the publications of the INTERNI system. In 1990 she invented the FuoriSalone, the Design Week that enlivens the city of Milan each year in April, with over 500 events. As a curator, she creates and organizes cultural events and exhibitions in various countries. Honors received include: Officier des Arts et des Lettres, assigned by the French Ministry of Culture (2005); the Ambrogino d’Oro of the City of Milan, for the creation of the FuoriSalone (2007); the ITA Italian Talent Award assigned by the Chamber of Deputies in Rome (2014); and the Medalla Anáhuac en Diseño, at the time of the international conference “Diseñar para la Humanidad” in Mexico City (2019). She has been the Italian Ambassador of Design for Italian Design Day in March 2017 in Mexico City, and in March 2018 and 2019 in Madrid. In September 2020 she received the Compasso d’Oro ADI award for the career, and the Chi è Chi Awards - The Movie for the career.
