The Trans-Atlantics of the Sky – AIM – until 16 September 2018
Alinari Image Museum, Trieste – Bastione Fiorito del Castello di San Giusto
AIM Alinari Image Museum presenta l’inedita mostra fotografica e multimediale Dirigibili – Airships. I Transatlantici del cielo, promossa da Fratelli Alinari, Fondazione per la Storia della Fotografia e MBVision.
In the spaces of the Bastione Fiorito del Castello di San Giusto, curated by Max Pinucci and based on the book “Airships – Dirigibili,” the show reveals the epic history of dirigibles, the giants of the sky that from the second half of the 1800s, 40 years prior to the use of airplanes, made one of mankind’s wildest dreams come true: to fly through the clouds, gazing down at unexplored territories and crossing the wide oceans.
The exhibition retraces the evolution of airships through 51 photographic prints and 120 digital images from Archivi Alinari and important international institutions.
