The Endless Stair, the project that stands out at the 2013 edition of the British design event, is positioned on a lawn in front of the Tate Modern, at Bankside. Endless Stair is the first work made with structural panels of American tulipwood. The solid wood panels with crossed layers, also known as X-Lam (in Italian) and cross laminated timber – CLT (in English), have a load bearing function when used as walls, slabs or roofs. At YouTube it is possible to see the first video on the creation and construction of the Endless Stair, featuring short comments from the participants: AHEC, Alex de Rijke, Imola Legno, Arupetc. See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijfZaYj0Htg&feature=c4-overview&list=UU-GSONDUCjSxnGNmvOXjbBA&hd=1.
