After more than 30 years in the communication sector, Fabio Luciani presents his paintings from Bronzetto in Florence for the first time. Valuing the hidden poetics of the workplace, he traces a new vision. Communicative

In Florence, from 26 to 28 November 2021, about 30 paintings will populate the suggestive laboratory in via Senese 50r and the Atelier in via Romana 151r of the Bronzetto with an essential set up to represent a journey, the path followed by Fabio Luciani which, after a long professional history as a PR of manufacturing and design companies, presents a preview of The beautiful before the beautiful. Materials and craftsmanship, an exhibition that indicates a new vision, a new corporate communication experience, this time linked to pictorial expression.

The works and the relationship with 'doing'

The forms represented by Luciani stand out to tell immediately the secrets of the places dedicated to techne, to put it like the Greeks, to know-how, which is also art and a set of activities not only manual, but also intellectual.

“Luciani's paintings” writes the critic Nicola Nuti curator of the exhibition “re-establish the relationship with 'doing', that is, that complex of expertise that in the Renaissance had created the 'botteghe', forges of art and high craftsmanship together. All the paintings hanging, or rather suspended, in the work environment generate a dialogue in space rather than with the viewer, so much so that each painting seems to complement the others. An exhibition itinerary that is not the reading of a personal mythography, but the search for a narrative and poetic unity”.

Genesis of the project: the professional (and personal) story of Fabio Luciani

For over 30 years Fabio Luciani's work has consisted in telling the press, emphasizing their identity value, objects and projects of many furniture, design and materials companies, from larger and more established to niche ones.

A work loved and lived in all its aspects with passion and dedication, which also gave Luciani the opportunity to enter the 'womb' of each company visited, to record images and emotions: of to know and appreciate those phases of beauty that are not yet, 'that is done', in the making.

Hence the project of Beauty before beauty: a journey that brings company production close to art, giving an expressive dignity even to what of the product (the artifact not yet perfect) remains hidden from most.

The poetics of the workplace

Beauty before beauty is a project that seeks to shed light on original aspects - not 'official' never banal - of the life of those businesses, artisanal or industrial, which are rooted in the territory and in its history: from the workbench to the dusty warehouse shelf, the different materials leap onto Luciani's canvases, generating a poetics of workplaces built on light, depth, shadows and especially on emotions, thanks to acrylic colors and processes with a prevalent metallic and material component.

Luciani's painting stems from a sensitivity that has always been expressed with watercolors, but above all from the techniques learned in the courses of Professor Marco Cavallini that 'have helped to express this passion of hers in a better and articulated way. A painting with a clear figurative matrix, but which in a natural way, in some works, turns to the informal and also to the abstract: every time the artist wants to remove weight on the never denied materiality of his subjects, highlighting their subtle, impalpable, poetic texture.

The Bronzetto opens the doors of his 'workshop' and his atelier

The Bronzetto team is particularly pleased to open its laboratory and atelier to the artistic project of Fabio Luciani, which it strongly supports as it enhances what is not taken for granted in the essence of doing business: its uniqueness and, why not, its poetics. Founded in 1963 by Antonio Calcinai, today Il Bronzetto is a productive reality that is dedicated to interior design, combining the know-how linked to the tradition of the Florentine workshop and the working of bronze and brass with new and increasingly high-performance manufacturing technologies.
