Olivari’s experience in the technological and crafted processing of brass has ‘brought back to light’ the original chandeliers by Gio Ponti in the church of San Francesco al Fopponino in Milan.
The 20 brass lamps of the central nave, which were removed in the 1980s, return after 30 years to restore the meditative atmosphere and spatial concept of the church designed by Gio Ponti.
The fixtures made in 1963 had been damaged by oxidation, losing their light, elegant finish.
The careful restoration was done in the workshops of Olivari.
The church of San Francesco al Fopponino, Via Paolo Giovio 41, is open every day from 8.00 to 12.30 and 16.00 to 20.30.
During the Salone del Mobile in Milan, from Monday 16 to Sunday 23 April, guided visits will be available from 19.30 to 20.30 (in English and Italian).
