The international fair specializing in the textile sector for the home and contract, held in Frankfurt am Main from 9 to 12 January, welcomed 2658 exhibitors from 62 countries (2012: 2601) and registered growth for the third consecutive year: about 66,000 visitors from 129 countries (2012: 67,451). The results achieved by Heimtextil were positively assessed by both the exhibitors and the visitors: most of the exhibitors (80%) and almost all the visitors (94%) said they had achieved their objectives. These percentages are almost identical to those of the previous year (respectively 79% and 93%). More visitors arrived this year from the United States and Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, France and the Benelux countries, Switzerland, Czech Republic, China and Taiwan. The rankings of visitors had Germany in the lead, followed by Italy, China, Turkey, Great Britain, the United States, France, Spain, Russia and Poland. Foreign visitors rose to 66% of the total (2012: 65%). Thanks to this greater internationalism, Heimtextil offered companies that focus on exports an excellent platform for business. On a national level, Heimtextil attracted a larger number of interior decorators (over 7000) and dealers of bedding systems (1000), who registered prior to the start of the fair for the programs Heimtextil Insider and Bed’n’Excellence. Finally, the sector of carpets and wall coverings was a great success this year. www.heimtextil.messefrankfurt.com.
