In September in Venice, the first major cultural event on crafts across Europe

Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Isola di San Giorgio Maggiore, Venice

14-30 September 2018

Homo Faber is the first major cultural event on crafts from all over Europe.

A voyage to discover the legacy of expertise and creativity of the finest artisans and designers.

14 thematic initiatives in an itinerary created for the occasion by internationally renowned designers, curators and architects – including Michele De Lucchi, Judith Clark, Jean Blanchaert, Stefano Boeri and India Madhavi – each focusing on the different spirits, materials and techniques of artistic crafts.

Homo Faber: Crafting a more human future, the largest exhibition ever produced at Fondazione Giorgio Cini, is an engaging experience that will allow visitors not only to meet the artisans through their creations, but also to watch them at work.

The galleries, cloisters, library and even the former Gandini pool, in the Foundation’s magnificent monumental complex, will host a series of works of fine craftsmanship, as well as installations and workshops.

The event organized by the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship will also be an opportunity to visit spaces not usually open to the public.
