The recovery of Italian exports and the challenge of sustainability
Talking about design is increasingly necessary today. In fact, in the post-pandemic era, the world of design and the companies that produce it must face new challenges linked to major global and local issues: the ecological transition, new lifestyles and work, social, cultural and geo-politics of contemporary times.
In this complex framework, the support of the Italian institutions for the export of the sector has never stopped. And, thanks to resilience and the ability to adapt and recover, the Italian exports of the furniture sector managed to achieve what seemed a dream in 2020: to exceed 2019 in terms of sales and turnover in 2021. The entire sector in fact, it registered a + 22.3%, with over one and a half billion in turnover (a figure higher even than in the pre-pandemic).
Events not to be missed
After the Italian Design Day, the appointment to be made is the one with the Salone del Mobile in Milan (7 to 12 June 2022).
