The City of Turin and the European Design Institute (IED) have signed a pact for the creation of a new zero-emission training complex in the former Ghia area. The project has been assigned to Mario Cucinella in keeping with a new architectural philosophy of sustainability and limitation of environmental impact. The Campus will be a forerunner of a green revolution that starts symbolically with the structure itself, then taking further concrete form in a new educational area for the training of professionals capable of responding to and anticipating needs for qualitative improvement of the life of the individual and of society as a whole. The European Design Institute plans to complete the entire structure in order to open it for use in the school year 2013/2014.
