MUDEC Museum of Cultures, Milan – 20 June / 9 September 2018
Javier Marín returns to Milan with 36 works of art in the exhibition Corpus, made with different techniques and materials over a long time span, with pieces that represent particular moments of his career.
The sculptures see at MUDEC include about 20 pieces arriving from Mexico, as well as 15 others from Pietrasanta, while the monumental wooden sculpture Cabeza Chico Grande reaches Milan from Val Gardena, after being produced for the occasion together with specialized craftsmen from that zone.
Curated by the Mexican critic Christian Barragàn, the show is part of the museum’s program on Mexico, also including the exhibition Frida Kahlo. Beyond the legend. The work of Marìn adds another facet of an overview of Mexican art.
