On 14 October CAMeC Centro Arte Moderna e Contemporanea took part in the XIII edition of the Giornata del Contemporaneo and celebrated the occasion by opening a new exhibition project, La Casa di Pietra. Racconti Emersi by Gumdesign.

The exhibition curated by Cinzia Compalati includes about 200 products and 50 collections, of which 19 are presented for the first time, involving 35 artisans from all over Italy.

A story made of objects – initially composed of 12 collections, which has grown to 30 collections in two and a half years, with over 100 products and 30 partner companies – whose pure and archetypal forms narrate significant steps in the evolution of mankind.

Now four new crafts companies and businesses from the Italian territory (Offiseria, Ceramiche Pierluca, Peotta Armando, Pecorella Marmi) have become part of the House of Stone, along with artisans already included in the circuit (0.0 Flat Floor, Alfaterna Marmi, Bertozzi Marmi, Cusenza Marmi, Marmo Service, Officine Sandrini, Stefano Parrini, Studio 14, Tecnomobili).

The installation has been done by two truly excellent firms: Rossinavi (platforms in natural iron exposed to weathering) and De Castelli (the furnishing complements Frammenti, created by Gumdesign, in natural iron and brushed brass with délabré finish), reconstructing the connection between nature and artifice, raw material and worked material, fine craftsmanship and digital making, in a narrative/visual path typical of the language and methods of Gumdesign.

Winner of the Best Communicator Award 2014 during Marmomacc, selected for the ADI Design Index 2016 and in the running for the Compasso d’Oro for Corporate Research, La Casa di Pietra is a cultural project with which CAMeC has now reached its fifteenth exhibition.
