An evening event for the 20th anniversary of the POLI.design and SPD Scuola Politecnica di Design master's degree course

Born in 2004, the Master in Interior Design at Politecnico di Milano (managed by POLI.design and SPD Scuola Politecnica di Design) has been a fundamental step for the career of many professionals. On Thursday 29 February 2024, starting at 6.00 pm, the 20th birthday will be celebrated with an invitation-only event at Enterprise Hotel in Corso Sempione in Milan. Doing the honours, Francesco Scullica (scientific director of the Master), Giulia Gerosa (co-director) and Angela Mazzotti (scientific coordinator), together with Sofia Vedani (CEO of Planetaria Hotels).

Themes of the evening event

During the evening, the characteristics and history of the training course will be summarised, future developments will be discussed and the relationship with the Milan Design System with which the Master in Interior Design has always been associated will be explored.

The Master and the Milan Design System

The relationship between the Master in Interior Design and the Milan Design System is a 'direct' one that translates into specific teaching activities. Students have always been involved in visits to exhibitions, showrooms, museums, "designer houses and places" and in significant events such as Milan Design Week, Salone del Mobile and Fuorisalone. Occasions of encounter "integrated" into the educational pathway that also forges an "indirect" relationship with design studios, brands, companies, magazines, sector media, educational and research centres and institutions.

Guests of the evening

The programme includes speeches by some of the leading figures in design, including: Gilda Bojardi (Director of Interni, Honorary Degree in Interior and Spatial Design of the School of Design of the Politecnico di Milano), Luisa Collina (Full Professor - Department of Design of the Politecnico di Milano - Faculty of the Master in Interior Design), Giorgio Tartaro (moderator, journalist and lecturer), the representatives of Studio Simone Micheli Architectural Hero, Studio Marco Piva, Studio Progetto CMR, Studio Migliore+Servetto (the four reference studios for the development of some of the Master's design workshops). Finally, Ludovica Serafini (Palomba Serafini Associati: PS+A) will hold the lecture "New vision of living".

A system with firm roots

Faculty, lecture and exercise topics reflect the content and methodological richness, the creative and design originality of a virtuous system. A system with firm roots in the fabric of the city and Italy, capable of creating connections with a broad international dimension while preserving its identity. A system that goes so far as to deeply influence the design of spaces, the fulcrum of the educational product.
