POLIteca (Design Knowledge Center), via Durando 10 (building 7), presents an exhibition entirely on the 1950s. Starting with documentation from the Center, an itinerary has been created through events, designers and objects from that decade: from the creation of the Compasso d’Oro prize in 1954 to the Sala Bianca, the first international show of Italian fashion in 1951. From Emilio Pucci to Christian Dior, Barbie to Marlon Brando. The lobby of POLIteca contains a section on interior and product design, and another on the materials discovered or widely used in the Fifties; inside the Blu reference room, visitors can see a historical path through the fashions of the 1950s and a series of posters for famous films with costumes by leading fashion designers. www.politeca.polimi.it.
