Venice Architecture Biennale
Venice – Giardini and Arsenale
26 May – 25 November 2018
iGuzzini illuminazione is on hand again this year at the 16th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale.
This iteration, curated by Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara of Grafton Architects, is on the theme Freespace.
For the occasion, this company that is a reference point in the architectural lighting sector is the technical sponsor of installations inside the Freespace of Grafton Architects, Padiglioni Italia (Arcipelago Italia), Ireland and Mexico. The company has also contributed to the pavilion of the Arab Emirates.
In the various spaces of the Arsenale, iGuzzini deploys its lighting solutions, the result of a perfect blend of technology for high energy efficiency, innovative design and attention to detail.
iGuzzini has supplied innovative solutions for the project Arcipelago Italia curated by the architect Mario Cucinella for Padiglione Italia.
An itinerary of about 100 stages made of small works of quality architecture in terms of relations with the landscape, investigating the state of the art and offering reflections on timely issues such as urban peripheries, earthquake recovery, abandoned areas, rail yards and mobility.
“We constantly pursue innovation to improve the lives of people through light, in the belief that the symbiosis between light and architecture can make a decisive contribution to achieve this objective. We are happy to have been asked to ‘shed light’ on architecture as a tool of territorial regeneration, in the voyage towards the future undertaken by Mario Cucinella with Arcipelago Italia,” says Adolfo Guzzini, president of iGuzzini illuminazione.
