Pirelli HangarBicocca presents an exhibition of historical importance that permits visitors to cross the Spatial Environments of Lucio Fontana, some of them reconstructed for the first time since the artist’s death.
The show curated by Marina Pugliese, Barbara Ferriani and Vicente Todolí and produced in collaboration with Fondazione Lucio Fontana concentrates on Lucio Fontana’s environmental research, presenting a nucleus of Ambienti spaziali never brought together before. These are works of crucial importance that reveal the innovative force of this great 20th-century master.
“Ambienti/Environments” brings together, at Pirelli HangarBicocca, nine Ambienti spaziali and two environmental interventions created by Fontana (1899, Rosario, Argentina – 1968, Varese, Italy) from 1949 to 1968 for Italian and international institutions and museums.
