Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Milan
Wednesday 12 December 2018 to March 2019
Galleria Cracco – the project created to involve Italian contemporary artists in the making of site-specific projects for the lunettes over the windows of Ristorante Cracco in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in Milan, presents a video installation created by Masbedo, the art duo composed of Nicolò Massazza and Iacopo Bedogni.
The three art showcases will be on view free of charge 24 hours a day for all visitors to the shopping gallery, a renowned Milanese landmark that welcomes over 100,000 people every day.
Masbedo have created a special video installation titled Romans Roman (Hommage à Roman Signer), a triptych composed of three videos – each in one of the lunettes – that combine in a powerful, hypnotic image.
The video installation narrates the wait for a meal: two women and one man sit around a set table suspended in a state of seductive, magical restlessness, a disturbing, disorienting atmosphere.
With Galleria Cracco the new restaurant of chef Carlo Cracco becomes a place of experimentation, where creativity is the common denominator of food, architecture, design and art.
The project began in April with the work Heterochromic (Rosa e Carlo) by Patrick Tuttofuoco. It is coordinated by the chef together with the communication agency Paridevitale and Sky Arte, the first Italian TV channel focusing on art in all its forms.
