Amini presents the charity auction in support of Emergency. 42 Taimany carpets, expression of the best Afghan craftsmanship, on sale from 23 November to 12 December on Catawiki

Numbered pieces and offered for sale with an accessible auction base, with the aim of raising funds to support Emergency's activities in Afghanistan. From 23 November to 12 December 2021, Amini Carpets presents, in its Milanese showroom in via Borgogna 7, Made in Afghanistan, charity auction in partnership with Catawiki.

The funds raised will be entirely donated to Emergency in Afghanistan

The charity auction offers a significant collection of the traditional textile art of this country, the crossroads of Central Asia. Like a quality brand, the name Made in Afghanistan certifies the origin and authenticity of the artifacts, while the label on the back of each rug certifies their free and spontaneous creativity. The funds raised from the sale of the carpets will be entirely donated to the projects of Emergency in Afghanistan.

Afghan handcrafted rugs with an accessible auction base

Forty-two Taimany carpets expression of the best Afghan craftsmanship, offered for sale with an accessible auction base  that tell of slow rhythms, of hours spent weaving, choosing motifs, colors, yarns: timeless objects, created to be used and handed down, at the same time custodians of memory and a contemporary identity.

To buy magnificent rugs while also doing something good

“The situation in Afghanistan, a country where we have our roots and where our history begins, has always been particularly close to our heart. With this project we want to contribute improving the lives of these populations”, explains Ferid Amini, CEO of the company. “As a company we have always worked very hard in Afghanistan and we believe that the quality of Taimani rugs is particularly suitable to allow people to buy magnificent rugs while also doing something good. We have chosen 42 carpets, the same number of the years of the wars that have taken place in Afghanistan to bring even more attention to this tragedy.

Concrete support

“We have always been alongside our weavers and in the last 25 years we have implemented many projects to revive and strengthen the productive fabric in Afghanistan with the aim of having rugs of great relevance without losing the link with traditions” adds Basir Amini, who oversees Amini Carpets’ projects in Afghanistan.

Why support Emergency in Afghanistan

Made in Afghanistan is an initiative with high added value for Amini Carpets, which through this charity auction is the spokesperson for a message of collaboration between peoples and the circulation of culture and solidarity. The funds raised from the sale of the carpets will be entirely donated to the projects of Emergency in Afghanistan, an ONLUS chosen by Amini Carpets because “it represents an Italian excellence that has acted on the Afghan territory with constant and admirable commitment and devotion. We believe that Emergency work is the best way to directly help the country’s hospitals”.
