From 1 February to 15 June 2014, the Stedelijk Museum of Amsterdam presents the exhibition “Marcel Wanders: Pinned up at the Stedelijk – 25 years of design.” The show features drawings that illustrate Wanders’ work from the late 1980s to the present, as well as sketches, prototypes, experiments, works developed for special projects, virtual settings. As well as 400 objects created by the designer, including furnishings, lamps, tableware, flatware, wallpaper, jewelry. The title underlines the exhibition’s approach to analysis of the designer’s work in a museum context. The show has a three-part itinerary: a white zone offering analysis of Wanders’ work; a black zone showing activities of a more personal and often experimental nature; and a space that explores the role of Wanders as an art director of design brands.
