The most complete retrospective of the last 20 years on the work of a Mark Tobey, and the first to take place in Italy. The exhibition Luce filante curated by Debra Bricker Balken, at Collezione Peggy Guggenheim, includes 66 paintings from the 1920s to the 1970s.
It presents a careful overview of the output of Tobey, one of the leading American artists who emerged in the 1940s, the key decade of the birth of Abstract Expressionism.
