Business, internationality, project and product culture at the recent Veronafiere exhibition

Design culture, latest market trends, a high-profile and knowledgeable audience from all over the world (customers, partners, distributors, contractors, architects and interior designers), professional training, events, exhibitions, workshops and talks. Today, a trade fair cannot ignore a project that goes beyond the commercial product to enhance and promote it to the full. Marmomac 2023 was all this.

Record internationality

The international benchmark exhibition for the natural stone supply chain that has just closed at Veronafiere reaffirms its role as the main world hub for the stone market and processing technologies. Four days full of business and a full exhibition centre with 12 pavilions and three outdoor areas occupied, for a total of over 76 thousand square metres net. On the stands at Marmomac 2023, from the very first day, it was record internationality, with 68.5% of the 1,507 exhibiting companies arriving from abroad, from 54 countries. A trend confirmed by the arrivals of foreign buyers, accredited from 138 countries.

A team game

"Marmomac 2023 was the result of great teamwork," comments Federico Bricolo, President of VeronaFiere. "We have been involved since the end of the previous edition in an important incoming activity of foreign operators through synergies with the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Italian embassies and consulates worldwide.

A great international commitment

"If operators from 138 countries arrive at Marmomac 2023, this is all thanks to long preparation for which we have always had the fundamental support of ICE Agency, which financed buyer incoming, and Confindustria Marmomacchine. A great commitment also by our structures abroad: our delegates and operating companies in China and Brazil have ensured that this can be considered one of the most international b2b events on the entire world exhibition scene," continues Bricolo.

Important numbers

"The edition of Marmomac 2023 closed with important numbers," explains Maurizio Danese, CEO of Veronafiere. "We exceeded 51 thousand operator attendances, registering a 10% increase over 2022. Also growing, by 15% in absolute value, were foreign visitors, who reached 66% of the total. Great influx from the American continent with +29%, thanks to strong increases in arrivals from the United States, Canada and Brazil. And then the great return from China and a lot of participation from Europe, particularly from Germany, Spain and France'.

Product culture

"We have blazed a new trail by turning the spotlight on product culture and professional training thanks to two dedicated pavilions: The Plus Theatre and A matter of stone, curated by Elle Decor, to promote among architects and designers the use of marble in the luxury and interior design sector," concludes Danese.

Keep in touch

After the physical exhibition, exhibitors and visitors can keep in touch on the Marmomac Plus portal, an online tool supporting business 365 days a year. In 2024, Veronafiere's exhibition calendar dedicated to the stone sector will include the appointment in Brazil with Vitória Stone Fair (30 January-2 February), in the run-up to the next edition of Marmomac, scheduled in Verona 24-27.
