The fair returns on 27 September and confirms its vocation for in-depth analysis with a programme full of exhibitions and talks

Deepening the culture of marble and natural stone, delving into the folds of a design excellence that is strategic for Made in Italy. It is a calendar packed with appointments for the next Marmomac, scheduled 27-30 September in Verona. The leading international trade fair dedicated to marble and natural stone confirms its vocation for project culture, and not just business, with a schedule of initiatives aimed at professionals, architects and designers to explore new languages and projects related to stone materials.

A journey through the culture of marble

The Plus Theatre, the area inside Hall 10, will be the beating heart of the exhibition, animated by talks, lectio, workshops and five exhibitions to tell the story of natural stone and its uses - with a focus on future developments and uses - through a path that ideally relates the entire production cycle, from the block to the final product. The leitmotif of the initiatives is a varied but homogeneous interpretation of how natural stone lends itself to a more or less complex use in different sectors.

Prestigious partners

Several partners feed into the cycle of exhibitions and talks. Like every year, the Association for Industrial Design organises, through the Veneto and Trentino Alto Adige delegation, Etica-Litica, a challenge to companies to create prototypes with a single slab, including recycled processing materials, to combine the creativity of industrial design with the needs of sustainability, seriality and ease of transport. Raffaello Galiotto presents the exhibition Visionary Stone, with the aim of promoting the development of experimental works of art in stone processed with numerical technology. At the heart of the exhibition are the upheavals of recent years that have seen an increase in the potential for calculation combined with the precision and strength of stone processing machinery.

Luxury design brands

Also returning for its fourth edition is Brand&Stone 4.0, the exhibition conceived and curated by Danilo Di Michele to welcome luxury design brands experimenting with the world of natural stone using new processing techniques to create unique products destined for the market. In-depth analysis in the sphere of architecture is instead entrusted to the scientific committee of Platform Architecture&Design which, together with Marmomac, will set up a photographic exhibition of projects representative of the use of stone created by sixteen international architecture studios.

University Research

Dedicated to universities is Marmomac meets Academies, curated by Giuseppe Fallacara and Domenico Potenza for the exhibition Italia da scoprire. University research and the landscape of urban public space. At the centre of the exhibition is an itinerary through stone materials and the urban landscape of the Italian province, with a focus on Italian and foreign university research and experimentation.

Talks, Lectures, Workshops

Marmomac training will also be entrusted to the busy programme of more than forty meetings on design and architecture topics that, over the course of the days of the event, will be aimed at professionals in the sector and will also provide training credits. Finally, the 2022 edition envisages the Marmo+Tech sections, a stage for dissemination and discussion where companies in the machinery and tools areas will present technical innovations at the service of stone processors, and Marmo+Press, a programme of four conventions organised by as many international technical publications on topics related to sustainability and markets.
