More exhibitors, internationalism, business opportunities and new events on the culture of stone products. Growth is the key word of the 51st edition of Marmomacc.

The most important worldwide exhibition for the field of marble, granite, production technologies, design and training is back at the Verona Fair from 28 September to 1 October 2016. Over 78,000 square meters of display space, thanks to 2000 more square meters at Pavilion 10: an investment that makes it possible to cope with the waiting list of companies planning to take part.

“Today Marmomacc is the international trade fair of reference for operators in the natural stone industry – explains Maurizio Danese, president of Veronafiere. – Also thanks to the added value of the marble district of Verona, over the years we have created a platform to promote global interchange in the world of stone materials. A market with global turnover of over 23 billion euros, where Italy still leads the way, with 3.2 billion in exports in 2015.”

In terms of the incoming activity of foreign operators, in 2016 the collaboration with IICE-Italian Trade Agency and Confindustria Marmomacchine  continues, within the initiatives related to the Plan of special promotion of Made in Italy organized by the Ministry of Economic Development .

Pavilion 1 of Marmomacc, for the second consecutive year, becomes The Italian Stone Theater, gathering three exhibitions by world-renowned designers to narrate the interaction between stone and technology, alongside the Spazio Forum used for lectures and conferences.

There is also room for the second edition of the International Stone Summit: a worldwide conference on natural stone with the participation of major international marble associations.

Always a place of promotion of increased use of stone products applied to architecture and design, Marmomacc 2016 proposes three new initiatives in this direction. The conference Global Trends in Design and Sustainability is an event produced in collaboration with the American magazine Architectural Record to forecast the future of stone construction, along with major international architecture firms. This year, furthermore, Marmomacc involves Archmarathon, the festival of architecture that brings together 42 design studios, with the establishment of the new Stone Award. Another new development is the Icon Award, to select one work from those on display at Pavilion 1 as the image of Marmomacc 2017.

For the fifth year, Marmomacc & the City brings stone works and installations to the streets and courtyards of the historic center of Verona, in a true outdoor itinerary that reveals the versatility and beauty of stone products.

Finally, the 10th Best Communicator Award of Marmomacc focuses on the quality and originality of the stands of exhibiting companies.
