Marmomacc, the event of reference for the stone sector worldwide, and Archmarathon, the international architectural event that brings together 42 design firms from different countries and welcomes over one thousand architects, have launched a project of cooperation to promote the use of stone in architecture.

At the Forum area of Hall 1, Marmomacc will host, in two intense days of “casting” (30 September and 1 October), many architectural firms that will compete in the new “Stone” category.

An international jury will evaluate the most prestigious projects made with stone materials, among all those submitted. A second selection will take place during Marmomacc 2017, and the six best projects – three in 2016 and three in 2017 – will compete for the first Stone Archmarathon Award which will be assigned during Archmarathon 2018.

At Marmomacc there will also be meetings between the participating firms and the main Italian and foreign exhibitors.

Through this collaboration, Marmomacc further strengthens the link with the world of architects and interior designers, demonstrating its capacity to combine business with moments of training and knowledge for companies and professionals in this industry.
