Triennale di Milano has announced the winners of the 6th edition of the Premio Medaglia d’Oro all’Architettura Italiana, the prizes assigned every three years in collaboration with the Ministry for Cultural Resources and Activities, and the 1st edition of Premio T Young Claudio De Albertis, a new award assigned to promising talents in architecture and engineering.
The Gold Medal for Italian Architecture proposes active reflections on the role of the designers and their works. Prizes and honorable mentions are assigned to works of architecture designed by Italian professionals (architects and engineers) and built in Italy or abroad in the period 2015-2017.
349 nominations were submitted for the Gold Medal, and 88 for the T Young Claudio De Albertis Prize.
The projects by the winners of both awards are gathered in an exhibition curated by Lorenza Baroncelli, which will be open to the public until 11 November 2018.
Chaired by Stefano Boeri, the jury assigned the Medaglia d’Oro all’Architettura to the studio feld72 for the Kindergarten Niederolang, Olang, Bolzano, 2016.
The Gold Medals for the Career went to Umberto Riva, Paola Viganò, Guido Canali, Valeriano Pastor.
The Special Prize for a Debut Work was assigned to Mirko Franzoso for the Casa sociale Caltron, Cles, Trento, 2015.
The Special Prize for Clients went to Soprintendenza Archeologica della Puglia and the Segreteria Regionale MIBAC for the completion of the project by Edoardo Tresoldi, Dove l’arte ricostruisce il tempo, Manfredonia, Foggia, 2016.

-for the category New Buildings to Barozzi/Veiga for the Brunico Music School, Brunico, Bolzano, 2015-2017;
-in the category Landscapes and urban spaces to Amanzio Farris for Belvedere for one person, Rocca di Mezzo, L’Aquila, 2015;
-for the category Infrastructure to Stefano Santambrogio for the revitalization of the lakefront of Malgrate, Malgrate, Lecco, 2015;
-for the category Interiors to Gianmatteo Romegialli for the Roccolo Swimming Pool, Como, 2015;
– in the category Installations to Canali Associati for the installation of the new Statue Stele and the restoration of the Castello del Piagnaro in Pontremoli, Massa-Carrara, 2015;
– in the category Conversion and Restoration to Giulio Barazzetta and SBG Architetti for the project, work supervision and artistic direction of the restoration of the church of Nostra Signora della Misericordia, Baranzate, Milan, 2006-2015.
The T Young Claudio De Albertis Prize was assigned to Simone Gobbo for the Bivacco F.lli Fanton, Marmarole, Belluno, 2015 – under construction.
The other finalists for the prize were: Matteo Arnone, Andrea Brambilla, Mario Coppola, Ambra Fabi, Peter Pichler.
