SpazioFMGperl’Architettura hosts the fifth appointment the Gallery of Iris Ceramica and FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti devotes to Changing Milan. The exhibition Milano Work in progress #5, which opens on 7 March, presents a single but symbolic building that is part of the development program of Porta Nuova: Gioiaotto, by Marco Zanuso and Pietro Crescini, was built in 1967-70. Hines Italia SGRin March 2012 held a private invitational competition for the renovation of the building at Via Melchiorre Gioia 6-8. The studios invited were: Lissoni Associati, OBR Open Building Research, Park Associati, Studio Elementare. The main goal is the reuse of the building, in the portion of internal spaces still abandoned, and the improvement of the facade, respecting its language and rhythm, in a project that makes environmental sustainability the leitmotiv of the quality of the whole operation. In June 2012 the winner was selected: Park Associati. This exhibition shows the projects by all the studios, with in-depth coverage of the winning design.
