Triennale Design Museum presents  Clothespins, curated by Giulio Iacchetti.

The show focuses on this humble everyday object through a range of formal, material and functional variations.

Every era and civilization has generated a wide range of variations on this useful little item used for hanging out laundry.

The selection ranges from the first wooden clothespin invented by David M. Smith in 1853 to more elaborate solutions not just in terms of form but also in terms of functions, like the pin designed by the Brazilian duo Marcela Albuquerque and Taciana Silva precisely for bathing suits, or the Flipper by Paolo Garberoglio and Maurizio Carrara that solves the problem of mismatched socks.
