Architecture from Within / Architetture Interiori –Â Palazzo Ferro Fini, San Marco 2322, Venice – until 7 August 2018
The most important retrospective ever held in Europe, and the first in Venice, during the 16th International Architecture Exhibition, at Palazzo Ferro Fini: Nancy Genn. Architecture from Within / Architetture Interiori traces back through about 70 works and over 60 years of the career of Nancy Genn, the artist from California, a leading figure on the American postwar scene.
Works on paper in pencil, ink and mixed media, paintings and graphics, bronze sculptures of various sizes, in a path of discovery of the variegated inner universe of this remarkable artist.
Curated by Francesca Valente, the show is also an opportunity to present a bilingual monograph that brings together the entire oeuvre of the American artist for the first time: published by Skira and edited by Valente, it also contains many of the critical essays on Genn over the course of her long career, as well as reproductions of about 100 works, including pieces from prestigious public and private collections.
