Milan, Castello Sforzesco, Sale Viscontee
The City of Milan – Culture and the directorship of Castello Sforzesco present masterpieces of Italian graphic arts of the 20th century from the civic collections and those of Intesa Sanpaolo, in an exhibition of drawings, prints and artists’ books by the great masters of the last century.
The exhibition curated by Claudio Salsi has been produced and organized with the publishing house Electa.
Over 200 works – drawings, etchings, prints, artists’ books, paintings on paper – to reveal the great variety of the collections of works on paper from the museums, libraries and civic archives of Milan.
Curated by Claudio Salsi with the collaboration of the board of experts of the graphic arts collections, Novecento di carta is a gallery of works by Italian masters, from Alberto Martini, Carlo Carrà, Umberto Boccioni, Amedeo Modigliani, Mario Sironi, Giorgio de Chirico and Giorgio Morandi to Luigi Bartolini, Lucio Fontana, Giuseppe Capogrossi, Marino Marini, Fausto Melotti, Renato Guttuso, Alberto Burri, Enrico Baj, Federica Galli, Michelangelo Pistoletto and Alighiero Boetti, presented in chronological order to narrate the artists and movements of the so-called ‘short’ century.
