Cersaie is also a place for cultural, technological and architectural updating: here's what's happening in its spaces (in addition to the trade fair ones) in the 2024 edition

The Square, Galleria dell’Architettura, Città della Posa, Agorà dei Media: there are many spaces that Cersaie dedicates to culture, information and training.

Its architectural space is in fact the result of a project that involves all the operators in the supply chain in an activity of sharing knowledge of materials, technologies, innovations and trends, which are constantly updated.

But what is happening in these spaces on the occasion of the 2024 edition? Here is the program.

The Square

The hub of Cersaie, a multicultural platform, a meeting place, a place for exchanging information and conviviality, The Square, located in the Service Centre, presents itself with the new installation - strictly recyclable and reusable - curated by Dario Curatolo.

Here the program of meetings "building, living, thinking" is developed, thoughts are explored and the vision of the future market and the different orientations of the world of design are discussed. A journey around the concept of "architectural space" that takes inspiration from the experience of Route 40 of the last edition, with its stylised "square", declined in the typical style of Bologna with its porticoes known throughout the world.

The space occupies an area of about 1,000 square meters and is made up of several spaces, including a modular conference arena with up to 200 seats.

In addition to the "building, living, thinking" meetings and the international press conference Ceramics of Italy, The Square hosts a design bookshop, an ADI - Associazione per il Disegno Industriale station (this year marks the 10th anniversary of the ADI Award at Cersaie) and a radio station that broadcasts live for the entire duration of the fair.

A large screen has also been installed to illustrate the evolution of the Ceramics of Italy Tile Competition. An area is also dedicated to the institutional desk of Confindustria Ceramica, where you can request all the information on the Italian ceramic industry.

The Architecture Gallery

For 15 years, the Architecture Gallery has hosted conferences with leading contemporary masters on the international scene, meetings that from this year will be held at the Fair's Service Center, with the sole exception of the Lectio Magistralis, which will remain at the Palazzo dei Congressi. On Thursday 26 September at 11 am, Japanese architect Riken Yamamoto, winner of the 2024 Pritzker Prize, will hold his Lectio Magistralis. This is the first time that Cersaie has had the privilege of hosting the winner of the Pritzker Prize in the same year in which he was awarded the prize.

The City of Laying

A fundamental area that confirms the concreteness of an event that is well-integrated into everyday reality, capable of responding to specific needs, the City of Laying is located in Pavilion 32. It confirms its role as a place where work in progress illustrates the best solutions with respect to this fundamental phase of the supply chain.

The Media Agora

In the mall on 29 - 30, the Media Agora is a place for the dissemination of technical, professional and trend knowledge, thanks to the 18 Press Cafés run by as many newspaper directors. In addition to these, there is also the “Cersaie designs your home” initiative, a further space for dialogue with the private sector.
